Forests of Mexico

Renewable energy does not emit CO2 and plays a crucial role in the fight against climate change. Siemens Gamesa goes beyond. Do you know that the best way to combat CO2 emissions is planting trees? We are launching the Forests of Siemens Gamesa worldwide as part of our Social Commitment efforts to support reaching the Sustainable Development Goals within the UN’s Agenda 2030 for a better planet.

With this Forests we planted 750 trees in Nevado de Toluca (Mexico) with our partner Reforestamos Mexico following our goal to create the Forests of Siemens Gamesa all over the world.

The trees to be planted will be native. The first year the community will oversee the reforestation and the second year Siemens Gamesa employees will volunteer their time.

Employees can visit the area, where the forest sponsored by Siemens Gamesa will be visible and access to it will not be restricted. The plantation will be in the Zona Centro (CDMX), a protected landscape and Biosphere Reserve. Placement of a sign in the area indicating the sponsor of the forest or, failing that, a horizontal monolith.

Volunteering Program

In line with our core value: creating a better and sustainable world for generations to come, the Corporate Volunteering Program looks to create beneficial impact within the communities where we operate and the environment. In addition, this program brings the employees the opportunity to participate in the different activities learning about sustainability and promoting pride of belonging, engagement and motivation.

More than 3,000 employees have volunteered to help manage the different volunteering events locally and motivate others to join the initiatives.

Event Calendar

Through the achievement of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals, we also meet the concerns of employees to engage with communities through volunteer activities.
